Giving numbers電話號(hào)碼這么念
念一串電話號(hào)碼時(shí),最好每三個(gè)或四個(gè)數(shù)字停頓一下。
連在一起的兩個(gè)或三個(gè)相同數(shù)字,可以用 double 或 triple,比如:
222 讀作 triple two;
3344 讀作 double three, double four;
5555 double five, double five,如果要說(shuō) “five, five, five, five” 也可以,但不要說(shuō) four five,那是 45。
Email address郵箱地址這么說(shuō)
@ 讀作 “at”,所以,John@gmail.com 就是 “John-at-gmail-dot-com”。
如果用戶名的部分有標(biāo)點(diǎn)符號(hào),常見(jiàn)幾種這么讀:
“/” 讀作 “forward slash”;
“/” 讀作 “hyphen ['ha?f(?)n]” or a “dash”;
“_” 讀作 “underscore”。

不知道來(lái)電者是誰(shuí)時(shí),可以禮貌地詢問(wèn):

在公司,接到電話時(shí)要先報(bào)上自己的名字。
但不要說(shuō) “I am” 或者 “My name is”,直接在自己的名字后面加上 “speaking” 就可以了。

請(qǐng)某人接聽電話:
A:May I speak to Mr. Smith, please?

如果對(duì)方要找的人正是你,對(duì)話則是這樣的:
A: May I speak to Jane, please?

Leaving / taking a message留口訊、帶口訊這么說(shuō)
對(duì)方要找的人不在,你可以說(shuō)明情況,注意在句首禮貌的加上 “I'm afraid” 或者 “I'm sorry”。
